What You Can Do for Trade and Worker Rights

Urge Your Representative to Oppose the U.S.-Colombia FTA

During President Obama's state of the union address on January 27, 2010 he stated, "[The U.S.] will strengthen our trade relations... with key partners like... Colombia."  Colombia remains the most dangerous country in the world to be a unionist with more assassinations than the rest of the world combined.

More than 2,700 trade unionists have been murdered in the last two decades with a near total rate of impunity.  Urge your Representatives to oppose the U.S. Colombia FTA!

Tell President Obama to Take a New Approach Toward Latin America

Our friends at the Latin America Working Group (LAWG) circulated a petition to President Barack Obama requesting a new type of policy for Latin American and Caribbean countries. Now is a moment not just to be in opposition, but to create foreign policy that we can believe in.    NOTE:  The petition deadline passed on January 21 but it is still available for reviewing on the LAWG website.
